Singer, the sewing company, made M1 Carbines in WWII. That is not really relevant but you would be surprised of some of the companies that have made actual guns over the years.

Actually, they made .45 handguns.

I think you meant IBM, Rockola, Standard Products, Saginaw Steering, Inland, Winchester and Irwin Pederson.

I have seen an M1 with the Singer name on it. Mine is a Winchester. Maybe they only made a very small amount. The first hit on GOOGLE seems to agree with my memory too.
