Aquarium Crew: Help goby and shrimp not pairing up.

I purchased an orange diamond watchman goby and pistol shrimp after being told these two species could form a symbiotic relationship, so far they both seem to be doing their own thing after 3 days. How do I get them to agree to pair up with each other and form this symbiotic relationship?

3 days might be a little quick, maybe it's his first time with a crustacean

Which species of each? They have natural symbionts, and some times other species will pair, but not always.

the goby is the orange diamond watchman goby, the pistol shrimp I have no idea, it was sold under name "various pistol shrimps" which means it could be any species.

I do agree though, 3 days is pretty quick. One of the best sayings in the marine hobby is
PATIENCE! Only the BAD things happen quickly...the good things take time.

I will attempt to take a pic but the shimp is very elusive, I have only seen him twice since I got him, and the last time was yesterday.

It will take a while, could be weeks. And there is no guarantee they'll hook up.

Oh, and watch out for that pistol shrimp. He'll eat your other animals if he gets hungry.

One of them post on ATOT by any chance...that could be a reason.
