AquaMark3 - Massive's take

Consider that most "DX9" games will use the shader with the minimum precision required. There's no point wasting cycles using 32-bit floating point when 8-bit INT will suffice. I think AQ3 is DX9 in that it appears to have been coded to DX9 spec. I also think HL2 is a more thorough DX9 test, and one that I'll be paying more attention to. 🙂

why do you say that BoomAM? they seem about the same to me as far as being a mix of some dx9 tech with lots of dx8 and older tech too, and both seem rather firmly in nvidia's pocket at this point.

It just seems more flexable than 3dmark. More ways built in to test things. Not just an end score to look at.
And its baced on a game engine that`ll be used in upcoming games, so it`ll be a good indication of initial DX9 apps. As initial ones will still be mixing DX7/8 parts to ensure backwards compatibility with non-DX9 gfx cards. But thats just my opinion.
