Hey fellas...
Anyone able to shed some light on this subject? I have tested this with a GeForce 2 MX 400, GeForce 4 MX 420, and Radeon 9700 Pro (ATI Retail). The two nVidia cards used 45.23, the latest release drivers. The ATI card was used in conjunction with the Catalyst 3.7's. My system includes;
AMD Athlon XP 1700+@2354MHZ (11x214)
Epox 8RDA+
512MB PC3200 @ 214 3-3-3-8
only important items...
Anyways, when running aquamark 3 with either Geforce card I score about 8500 CPU points (about 5.5k[GF2]/about 10k[GF4] for the overall socre). I then reformatted and installed windows again with the 9700 Pro, latest Catalyst, all updates. New AM3 score of 37K, but the CPU score drops 1000 points to about 7500. No bios settings were changed, and no CPU speeds were changed, NO REASON for it to drop when its a *CPU* score and my CPU/MB/RAM has not changed. I think removed the catalyst drivers, popped the GF4MX back in, installed same 45.23's, ran AM3 and scored the same 8500 CPU score again! Why do the nVidia scores increase 1000 points for the CPU???
On a side note: As a few websites have mentioned, I see NO shadows with the 45.23s from any of the ships during the benchmark on the nVidia cards.
Any clues?
