hi, npw that AQUA@home has some WU's avaialble, how do I get them? I checked the settng for downloading and there seems like a change in that the selection for AQUA was unselected and AQUA_CUDA was selected. I don't like the CUDA WU's - very slow and gerky on my machine. My I cannot get my machine to download any. The message says - not requesting any work.

Any ideas?
 
These settings work for me.

Run only the selected applications (all applications)
If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications? no
Use Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) if available no
Use Central Processing Unit (CPU) yes

i don't have a CUDA processor, but was having the same problem.

You might try a reset or detach/attach if the settings don't work.

I do have a few CUDA WU's still running, so maybe once they are finished it will work. Or, I will try the detach / attach thing - thanks.
 
In spite of what their Server Status page says, it seems like the AQUA project frequently does not have any work for non-CUDA clients.

Because of your OP, I went over and checked this out yesterday. It looks as though there are WUs available for Quad-core cpus. They have a new "highly optimized" multi-threaded app that uses all four cores. One WU uses all four cores. This seems to only work efficiently if you are not crunching other projects on that same machine.

Out of curiosity, I moved all three of my quads onto the project. No trouble getting these types of WUs so far in last 24 hours. For 18,000-28,000 sec of work, I'm getting 7,000=8,000 points!😛

A lot of teams are cranking out massive point totals. link

EDIT: Check out the news on the home page link. They are no longer distributing WUs to single core machines with the exeption of cuda WUs.
