APU servers

Well if that gets AMD some HPC presence the I guess the $330 million might pay off. And if HPC revenue means more revenue and AMD can therefore afford a bit more R&D for more competitive CPUs it will be good everyone: wouldn't want Intel to get so comfortable without any competition that they get complacent or greedy.
 
Sounds more like the mask and design needed for their tiny server volume is the problem economicly. AMD is basicly gone in the serverspace.
