APS External SCSI drive red light error code

Hello,

Our office has an old APS External SCSI drive enclosure with a 2gb drive. The red led flashes 7 times, then 8 times, then flashes again... 7,8,,,7,8,,,7,8,,, etc... Of course the drive is inaccessible. Does anyone know what this "code" means?
