Now that I have my tower built and newlatop I'd like to load it with some useful programs.

I did a few searches and came across this. http://lifehacker.com/lifehacker-pack-for-windows-our-list-of-the-best-windo-787533613

After reading the description of the Apps. Launchy, Revo Uninstaller and Auto Hot Key sound like they'd be useful.

Does anyone have any experiance with these? Do they do what they advertise to do? Do they have any bloatware or slow down your system?

I have an 850 PRO SSD in each PC. So I'm wondering if Launchy will do much?

Thanks everyone.

Revo uninstaller is only useful if you have issue with Microsoft add/remove not working properly. I don't see a need for it 99% of the time.

I don't have any experience with the others you mentioned.

Revo is good (useful for uninstalling stubborn programs), but I use Geek Uninstaller now:

Launchy is useful if you are keyboard-oriented...works kind of like Apple's Spotlight on a Mac. CTRL + Spacebar or something to launch, then type in what you want like Word or Photoshop, then select & open it. Otherwise, just pin your favorite programs to the Start menu or taskbar & use your mouse to click on them if you are a mouse-oriented person.

Auto Hot Key is useful if you do a lot of repetitive things. I use Macro Express (not free, but crazy powerful). I don't really use it much personally, just for work stuff.

I have a license for both Revo Uninstaller Pro and Total Uninstall which is the paid version of Geek Uninstaller, I stopped using REVO as it finds way too many errenoues entries after an uninstall.

Example, I uninstalled Intel Rapid Storage Technology with it and it wanted to delete all the files / reg entries of Intel HD Graphics Driver, Intel Management Engine Interface, Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework.... never gonna use it again..

Geek Uninstaller is good enough to be honest (free)

Autohotkey is really a hotkey scripting language. Unless you plan on scripting your own macros, it's not really going to do anything for you, and it's not something you just continually run in the background.

I use Revo all the time to make sure all the crap is gone when I remove a program. I wouldn't use it to remove a driver. I would use Driver Sweeper. Autohotkey is good in games. Like spamming.
