Approx. how many photos fit on 16mb CF w/ Canon A70

I plan on buying the Canon A70 next week. However, I have a few quick questions. First of all, about how many pictures can I expect to fit on the 16mb CF card that comes with the camera? Next, how big of a CF card can the camera hold and what size would be appropriate for the price? What kind of carrying case do you recomend for this camera and where is the cheapest place to get it? Finally, about how long will the four AA batteries last while using the camera? Thanks

I cant answer all of your questions but you should be able to fit about the same number of pictures on a 16mb card as you could on a 24 exposure roll of film (~24 pictures ). I am pretty sure that the A70 will only accept Type 1 CF cards which I believe are now available in 1GB capacity, if not 512 is as high as you can go.

Here is a chart that shows how many photos will fit on different size cards with that camera: PowerShot A70: NUMBER OF RECORDABLE IMAGES.

With the highest quality settings you can fit about 8 pictures on a 16MB card.
The camera uses Type I CompactFlash. These are available up to at least 1GB.

I would say just play around with the included card to see which of the quality settings are good enough for you and then decide which size CF card to get based on how many pictures you want to be able to store at that quality setting.

that's pretty low quality pictures on the A70 to fit 24 shots on a 16 MB card.

16 MBs can hold 16 fine detailed 2 MP shots. just an example of quality loss if you played down the quality of the A70 to fit 24 pictures on 16 MBs

OP - im guessing 8 at best detail.
