approx. how many dba is 0.8 sone (of the silencer)?

There is no direct comparison between dB and sone ratings.

Decibel (dB) ratings are a measure of the physical strength or intensity of the sound or signal as measured mechanically. Sone ratings are a measure of the perceived loudness as measured by human response to the sound and is more of a measure of how loud (or annoying) a sound 'feels', rather than how strong it is.

A VERY rough comparison would put .5 sone at approximately 30 dB, and 1 sone at about 40 dB, if both sounds are at a frequency of 1000Hz. But even then you can't really use that as a reliable measurement to compare to other manufacturers' dB ratings since they really are completely different scales and there is no way to know the frequency or intensity of the sound the fans produce with the limited information that most manufacturers provide.
