Hey guys, I apologize if this has been discussed a million times. I?ve bought an Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 CPU and I?m looking for a motherboard. I?ve been here and there and heard this and that from lots of people, but I truly want to know which is the best for me. I?m not an overclocker, but it doesn?t mean I won?t try. I also have OCZ Gold XTC PC2-6400 2GB (2X1GB) DDR2-800 240PIN Dimm Dual Channel memory. From recommendations, I was given three choices; the Gigabyte DQ6, ASUS P5W DH Deluxe and the DFI Infinity 975X. Apparently the DFI?s are big in the OC world (and this model is cheap too), but is it everything I would need? The main toss up here is between the ASUS and the Gigabyte. Now apparently this model of Gigabyte doesn?t play well with OCZ memory (so I was told), so I?m left with the ASUS. And this series of mobo looks like a little more than I need. But perhaps not. I personally was looking at the P5B series, but was convinced away as it uses a JMicron IDE controller. Apparently two of it?s IDE devices are a pain? Anyways, I?m totally clueless.

I?m also looking at getting an ATi Radeon x1900xt. I?m only familiar with ATi, but if anyone can note something about nVidia I?d be happy to listen.

Also, for the PSU I need a 24pin 12volt (instead of 20pin) and to make sure is has enough AMPs on the 12volt rails to give it enough juice to hungry PCI-e vid cards (especially in the case of an SLi/Crossfire configuration). Can anyone give a suggestion for a specific model?

Thanks guys!

Anandtech has great graphics card reviews that will tell you everything u need to know about nvidia! DFI has been known to be VERY friendly with OCZ, the two are practically in bed with each other (OCZ sells special ram under the moniker "DFI Special" on occasion). I would wait for the Abit AW9D-MAX or go with the DFI, which still hits pretty high clocks.
