how would one go about taking a level in swagger?

more seriously, i have fairly severe social anxiety to the point that in all manners of social interaction, i come off like a limp fish. or a retard. not really sure.

as one can imagine, this causes me problems.

so...

can anyone suggest a fast-track to losing social anxiety? i know, asking this on atot seems like fishing in sewage plant runoff, but i cant think of any internet communities that dont share the same problem.

I think the only solution to that problem is immersion in what makes you the most anxious. Until you see first hand that there really is nothing to fear your problem is not going to get better or go away. The reality is that most people will simply dismiss and ignore super insecure people because regardless of how smart you may be you end up being useless in practice and too much work to deal with. Social anxiety is a cyclical problem. It makes you act weird which makes the people around you not want to deal with you....which further feeds your insecurity. You need to break the cycle.

I suffered from this problem when younger but am now one of the most outgoing people around, I also end up being the life of the party. This only happened by me facing what I feared and spending as much time in social situation as possible. It doesn't take to long to realize there isn't much to fear, that is of course unless you really are a complete loser. Not sure if there is much help for anyone in that situation. You have to have something to offer society or they aren't going to have much use for you.
