I am going to apply to graduate school! Would you take the GRE or the Miller Analogy Test, if you had to take one? I can take either, but I'm not sure which I want to take.

They allow both.

Depends on what you like/are good at. As far as GRE vs. GMAT, I've heard that the GMAT has less math, but includes a section on logic. I personally took the GRE and didn't mind it too much, but just look into both and see which you think you'd do better on.

GRE wasn't bad (verbal was dumb though...but probably not overly important); never have taken the GMAT though.

Math was easy on the GRE.

GRE is normally the test of choice for grad school (not including MBA)

If your major of choice has a subject test, giving that might improve your chances

for eg, Subject GRE for CS, subject GRE for biology, subject GRE to math .. etc

Oh, and I forgot to mention that the GRE does actually have two required essay sections at the beginning. One is 45 minutes and the other is 30. Not too bad, but they do wear you down a bit before you actually get to the test itself.

As far as the GRE vs. SAT...the math is the same/easier, but the verbal is a bit tougher. Regardless, just study the wordlists found in those GRE prep books and it'll go a LONG way in improving your score.

Good luck! I applied to grad school in 2002, and they didn't require me to take either of those tests. I guess that they were looking for grad students in the engineering program, and they accepted me based on my transcripts.
Only 2 more classes to go now! It is going to feel good to be finished!

Take the GRE. If you decide to try for another school and they don't accept the Miller Analogy Test, you'll be out of luck. GRE is accepted everywhere.

Go with the GRE... I know it's more widely accepted... It might not hurt to take the other one too.

I think I'm going to go with the GRE. I don't think I took some practive MAT tests, and I don't think I can pass it. I'm going to study for both though, and decide later for sure.

Thanks! :D
