I have an Abit BP6 Dual 366 processors. Is there a website that shows exactly how to apply this stuff? Any help is appreciated.

I dont know of a website, but its simple. All you do is put a small dab on the proccesor, install the heatsink, and wipe of any excess that squishes out the sides. You arent using electrically conductive paste are you?(It requires VERY careful application to not short out your cpu especially PPGA models likke yours.) Wherever you bought it from, should warn you if its electrically conductive, becaue it is not a common thing.

check a local Radio Shack for the paste; they usually carry it. If you're lucky one of the sales people will know what they are talking about and will also be able to help.

basically you want to apply just what is necessary so that you do not have any air voids between your cpu and the fan. sometimes your cpu cover is not perfectly flat resulting in portions of the paste being thicker then other areas. This isn't a major concern as long as you don't apply huge amounts. Make certain that you have a good heat sink to facilitate heat transfer.

good luck

The stuff I got is from Radio Shack the exact name is: Silicone Base Heat Sink Compound. I have two Alpha Heat Sinks but when my system is clocked @ 550MHz each proc on full usage they can get up to 125°F. Well thanks for your advice I'll go do this tomarrow and let you know the results.
