Applying thermal grease

I have a friend who needs a website to show him how to apply thermal grease. I tried to tell him a small portion right dead center of the chip, but he wants to play it safe. Anyone have any good websits with pics for him?

Hopefully THIS thread doesnt get locked instead of a simple move. Sorry admin.

Jeez, how about a sense of humor. Since your other was locked, I didn't know if you saw it or not.

I did, but come on, first post on my new thread? It's Friday I know, but can someone help me out here?

It really depends on the cpu. Send you friend to Arctic Silver's support page

I have always found that using a razoblade to "cut" the TIM accross the processor gives you an incredibly thin layer to work with on the core. Seems to at least for me give lower temperatures than having a dab in the center of the chip.

Opposite for me with any CPU that has an IHS because the core is right inthe middle...not the sides. Plus it spreads over time anyway.
