So I stumbled across a job posting today that looks like I would really like, has some good potential advancement opportunities and that I would be a good fit for. Unfortunately I am leaving the country for two weeks on Saturday and won't have access to my cell phone. Their web site also doesn't provide any contact information that I can see.

Should I add something into my cover letter? "Please note that, while I am very much interested in this opportunity, I will be out of the country until xxxxxx date so email would be the preferred method of contact"

I'd rather not just wait in case the job closes. Any other thoughts?

Do you have a buddy who can check your cell phone voicemail for you and then email you if the company calls? Or can't you dial your cell phone number to check for voicemail?

Another alternative is to get google voice and port your number.

What you described in your cover letter is perfectly acceptable. However, it's questionable if it will be read.

You don't have to port your number, just get a new one and use that as your contact number for this application.
