What do you guys think? I don't know if employers want a load of .docs floating around. I have not applied formally for a job in years.

Does the job announcement contain any type of instructions? If it were me, I'd send a PDF. That way I know the document will appear exactly as I want unlike a .doc or .docx file because they might not have the correct fonts installed which screws everything up.

No instructions, just an email address. A text-only was my idea.

Send a PDF. Everyone will be able to open it and how it looks on your system will be how it looks on theirs.

stop using fucking weird-ass fonts...use Arial or Times New Roman or something that's common...

most people want you to send a word doc. I've had several people say they prefer that so they can edit the resume, like to add notes or questions to follow up on.

Comic Sans wins everytime. Everyone should know this.

You should follow the instructions that they provide, or simply attach your Resume in .RTF format which is readable in virtually any word processing program. Any formatting that RTF doesn't support you shouldn't be using in a resume. Everyone knows this.
