I know I have a absolutely no chance to get hired here but what do you think are some things I should put on the resume? They just opened close to me and I think I surpass their requirements with exceptions of a few people skills but I, for the most part, know what I'm talking about PC and console game wise. What do you think I should put for computers used? I put x486, Mac (Briefly), Windows 9x, XP and RH Linux.

Also, what is a POS computer? I thought the obvious briefly but I've never heard the term POS not in a joking fashion.

Anyone here have any salesman experience? Got any tips?

#1 be nice.
#2 walk the customer to the product and puit it in his grubby little hand if possible.
#3 always always always have a smile
#4 say, "hi" to EVERYONE even if you feel like sh!t.
#5 be ready to read packages to customers. most can not read. if you do not get this tip yet, don't worry, you will.
#6 The customer is always right until they get out of ear shot. Also, do not make fun of a past customer to a current one.
#7 If a customer calls in for info, and you have to call him back at a later time, always call. even if it is to say you do not have an answer yet.
#8 do not tackle a customer who you see steal stuff. your life is not worth a $50 game. A security guards life is however. tell them.
#9 If a customer invites you over to his house to see the deck you designed for him, don't go. Trust me on this. Have him take pics 4 you.
#10 Do not give out your last name if you can help it. I still get phone calls from customers @ home wondering when the next day I work is. 411 sucks.
#11 Give out your first name liberaly. it is worth 200 bonus points with your boss when a customer asks for you by name on a day you are not there.

Prioritize and make sure to help the person that was there first. You will NOT be able to help everybody and please everyone.

I can't remember the ten million times being overflooded with customers, while your waiting for something and the phone is ringing.

well for a start they'll want a person with good people skills. Its the truth as the aim is to be friendly and have good people skills. You sh ould be confident with talking to customers and not shy. After all they do want you to sell.

Say your good with people and hopefully you will be good with people in time.

Good luck.

Evadman covered everything reallly. Working with people is hard when you feel crappy and are stressing. You have to smile and act *nice*.

Also the last 3 are operating systems and nto computers. Also as noted by the poster above me its x86 not x486. Only nit picking as you are putting it on your application form so it helps you.

I went to get a part time job at kfc about 3 years ago. I got it and my mate didn't. Only reason being that hes white. I got the job as I'm asian and all the guys working there are indian/packistan/bangladish. Unfair or what?
