apply thermal paste on cpu core...anyone also put it on heatsink?

read the instruction for AS II to evenly distribute on cpu core but it doesn't say to distribute them on the bottom of heatsink...anyone ever tried to apply these thermal paste on both and does it help?

The instructions at the AS2 website actually say to tint the heatsink by applying As2 to surface and then rubbing it off with a soft cloth.
I wouldn't put a normal layer on both sides because you will end up with way too much, a THIN layer is fine.
