you're a long way from getting married. Don't worry about having a huge, perfect credit line right now. It will come. What are you itchin' for? You moving out?!

Bah, all this applying crap. 🙂 Viper, you have been approved for Killbat's Kick-@$$ Kredit Kard! Your list of names and numbers is in the mail!

I got a credit card though my bankand they gave me an 8000 dollar limit, to a then 19 year old college freshman. It must have been a glitch.

I've had a savings account since I was like 8, & a checking account with a debit card for maybe a year and a half. My paychecks get automatically deposited in my savings account. No credit card applications have ever asked for that information, though.

FFM...

It could be sooner than I thought. I want to start now.

With all this credit card talk, how about you all give me your cc number and if it matches a number that i generate, you'll win a prize.... 😀

I got a MBNA Visa card three years ago. Applied for it online, but it was a student card with the school's mascot on it and stuff. Pretty neat looking card. They've been constantly raising my credit limit. A few months back, they sent me a platinum card w/ $11,300 credit limit on it!!! With my part-time jobs while I'm in school, I only make about $15,000/year. How I would pay off a $11,300 bill, I dunno. But I won't argue.

I guess that means I have good credit. I've had all the utilities at my apartment in my name for 2 years, got a AT&T Mastercard (that I don't use, but keep around just in case), I did that Circuit City no interest for a year thing, and well, that's about it for my credit history.

Best way to get a CC would be those student cards. I started off with like $800 on that MBNA card. After a couple months it was around $2000, and kept going up ever since. Otherwise, try for some secured cards, or maybe start banking at a credit union and get a card through them.
