Applied for AMEX Blue for students... just a question

This will be my last credit card... i haven't applied for one in about a year or more... I just checked my credit report and I have a score of 712 ... but it says i've only had my first credit card 2 years and 2 months which is supposedly too short... I just recently wiped my debt clean... which is why i'm still stuck with a P3 ... but do you guys think i'll get approved?

If you applied online or over the phone don't they give you an instant decision?

What's your monthly income/debt ratio like? 40% or less?

i have no idea whether or not you will... but i got mine when i was a 1st year student with no credit... go figure... i just filled it out and got one

Nope no instant decision... i guess that's most probably a no... oh well...

Well I just paid off all my debt last Christmas and I think that might be a problem since I only work during breaks and during the summer...

I'm afraid that you might be right. Usually if you don't get an instant YES it means either:
1) The automated credit decision computer they use is confused and wants a personal to look over your application or
2) You've been declined and a letter is on it's way to you

Also only having seasonal employment is going to hurt you, not good.

I applied for the AMEX Blue for Students..despite Expedia having the wrong SS # on file for me, (I gave AMEX the correct one - which they called twice to verify), they approved me. I have had 1 credit card for 6 months, i paid that off in full each month, no debt for me. I put down that I was unemployed, even though I only work temporarily. Go figure.
