I'm having an odd issue - applications aren't closing properly. It isn't a specific application, or applications from a specific company, just random applications.
Here's the deal. I run a few things, use my computer a bit, and it starts feeling sluggish. I open Task Manager and a number of the programs I've used recently and exited are still listed as active and are taking up large amounts of CPU. Right now I've got Picasa taking up 47% CPU, notepad.exe taking up 20% and Media Player Classic taking up 18%. All of these programs were run and exited some time ago. It is different programs every time, including background aps, and it has gotten to the point that my system is almost useless.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?
