I saw this on Facebook but wasn't sure of this was a fishing site. Is it secure?

It IS a fishing site. Now, the better question is if it's a legitimate company fishing for your information to charge you a fee to help you consolidate loans.

If you're eligible for forgiveness, go directly to the organization that will discharge your debt.

I believe its 25-30 years for the federal government to forgive your back loans. I can't even imagine going that long with a school debt.

This...SO MUCH this.

Don't want to be burdened by crushing student loan debt? Don't sign the forms...and choose your major better.

Didn't you do a short sale on your house? You didn't want to be burdened by crushing home mortgage loan debt? So why did you sign the form? Why didn't you choose your house better?

But there is A LOT of companies (successful ones too) that will tell you that there IS free lunch and rape your wallet/credit history at the same time.
Every sales guy will tell you that you need their product. Ever go into a barber's shop and have them tell you anything but "yeah we can take a little off the top and clean up the sides"?

Eventually it becomes institutional and needs to be reeled in. Higher education is obviously beyond that point and has been for some time.
