Application that can compare two files side by side

This would be used for comparing progamming code...specifically T-SQL Views, Procedures, Functions...ect


I have a program now but was interested to see what else is out there if anything ?

textpad has that ability

That is what I have currently...Textpad. But I have found that if there is a glaring discrepancy between files it becomes impossible to tell where all the differences are...

It should come standard on just about any unix or unix-like system.

Download Eclipse (awesome IDE) and use the diff tool in Eclipse. It's freakin' awesome.

Documents are easy - but comparing programming code in files is different - but maybe not. Have you tried Word's document compare function?

A few people I know have switched from windiff to winmerge.

I used Beyond Compare at work. The interface was nice and I could push code from one window to another with ease.
