Application Error

On occasion a box will appear on my screen when I close out of a program. The most recent was yesterday when I received this:
The instruction at "0x00de5f6c" referenced at "0x00de5f6c". The memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program.

Any ideas what this means?

Possibly buggy software, possibly bad memory module. Does it happen with random different programs, or those that happen to use larger amounts of memory, or those that cause a high CPU load? Is it always the same memory address? If you switch around your memory modules and the address (0x00de5f6c) changes then it's likely to be a bad module.

Sorry to say I haven't been that observant. It hasn't been a consistent issue. . .yet. I guess I'll have to keep my eye on this for some specifics as to when it happens.
