Apple's Podcasts app for iOS hands-on

How Apple’s Podcasts App Hints at the Future of All Content

I used this most of today since I hear about it in the morning and spent most of the day in the car. It seems like an improvement in theory, but I will have to play with it some more before I decide if I like it.

One thing right off the top is the "reel to reel" screen is WAAAY too dark - it is almost impossible to see in any sunlight at all.

Tried it, don't like it. For starters I can't figure out a way to force updates. Maybe I'm either stupid or am overlooking it. I'll be staying with Downcast. If I was new to the platform it looks like a good way to go if you don't want to pay for an app but since I already did I'll stick with it.

You can set it to automatically update with new podcasts (in the settings of each subscription) or, when a new one is available, you can click the little dot next to it to start the download.

It is a little odd, but since I have been using the Music App all this time, I figure I better get use to it or start looking for a new app.

Sticking with Downcast. I can't tell what playback speeds the rabbit and turtle represent, assuming it's 2x and -2x, too fast. I need 1.5 and 1.75. Downcasts options are better for now.
