it is beautiful.
but if i owned one, and some hammerhead was over and put their fingers on it..i would feel obligated to smash something over their head.

I CAN ALSO BUY 4 17'' lcd's. the point is, the unified solution has more sex appeal.

No portrait mode =

My 2005FPw has got me hooked on portrait

Necessity for Dual-Link DVI =

Lack of monitor controls for non Mac OS =

Requirement to pull out a 2nd mortgage to buy one =

No component/s-video/composite =

stfu fanboy.....

Ummm, hello?! I'm actually a fan of Apple, I just think that the 2405FPw is a better buy than the 30" Cinema

Hells yea.
Nice rig there, Mani. You're missing a couple speakers though. ;)

Ever heard of correct surround speaker placement? ;)

Those "missing" speakers would be behind the photographer

Is there a windows vidcard that can run the 30" apple? to my understanding the new 512mb geforce 6800 ultra will be able to run these because of their dual link DVI transceivers which sitll have a driver problem not letting it run 2560x1600 in SLI mode which is the monitors native resolution. SO until then you need a workstation graphics card to run the 30" apple on a PC =\

PNY nVidia Quadro FX4400 (512MB, PCI-E, 6800 Ultra SLi chip)

Asus V9999GE GeForce 6800 (256MB, AGP, 6800 chip)

I've got a 30" myself with a Powerbook 15", and let me tell you, it kicks ass. I've used dual 20" Dells before, but it comes nowhere near to this. The bezel really makes all the difference when working on big projects, such as Maya, or even just web surfing.

Pardon me if I'm wrong, but I'm almost positive that first card is considered a workstation card. ;)

Anyways, our yearbook program has like 5 of these. Half the people don't even know how to use Photoshop! :|
