Apple USB keyboard on PC?

I really like the Apple keyboard that comes with the G4 and want to get one for my PC. I need a KB with two USB ports anyway and it sound like a good idea. Will it work? Does option = alt & apple key = windows key?

I have a third-party Mac keyboard and it works fine with my USB KVM to control my PC.

Ctrl = Ctrl
Option = Alt
Command (Apple) = Windows key

The placement of the Option/Alt key is slightly different, but that's not a big deal.

Hey dwell, I've got that very keyboard, why cuz i looks so damn cool and has a great touch and wonderful key response. I've got it working in XP on my PC.
Windows detects it automagically. The only thing is you can't use the cd eject, but the volume up and down as well as the mute buttons work. Good luck with yours.

I have three of these keyboards, two black keys and one of the newer white keyed ones. I like them since they add the usb ports and the volume/mute buttons also seem to work as well in windows. The only drawback is that there is no printscreen function mapped on this keyboard, but I get by that by using the onscreen keyboard function in win2k.

I went ant bought one today. Very nice to the touch. I have to get used to the keys, they are a little tighter spaced than the Microsoft keyboard. I am kind of upset because my USB port has no power left to run my joystick or webcam. Need to use an external hub, which is kind of why I wanted a kb with USB on it in the first place. 🙁

I am actually working on a registry key that will map F13 - F15 to print screen, scroll lock, & pause respectively. It will also swap the ALT and windows keys. I will post it here when I get it done. I am at work now and dont have the KB with me.

If anyone is looking for a kb that gives extra USB ports, try the MS Natural Pro with the two extra ports and a whole lot of programmable buttons, unless you're stuck on the Apple kb.
