Apple TV vs. microsoft Zune store (xbox360)

I'm thinking about purchasing an apple tv, I find myself renting movies more often than purchasing and I just assume to have my movies in a digital format anyway having an iPad, iPhone and what I hope to be a Mac desktop or laptop in the near future.

I have a friend or two who have preached the greatness of the apple tv since earlier versions. Now that the quality is (nearly allegedly) that of blu rays, they are even more over-the-top about it. The question though, is why would I go through the trouble to get an apple tv when I have the Zune store right in my Xbox 360 to rent or purchase movies from. Is there some other inherent benefit to an apple tv that I'm missing aside from the sharing that movie with my other apple devices? Am I missing something???

Help this poor consumer

If you already have the 360, and are paying for XBox Live Gold, and are paying for the ZunePass, and are happy with your situation, then you have no real reason to get the AppleTV.

All that said, it is $99, which when compared to the cost of your current setup... is much more reasonable, and if you are already playing in the Apple ecosystem, then you are pretty well set with the AppleTV. AirPlay is awesome for putting stuff from your iPhone/iPad/Computer over to the TV

This is my exact problem. Is this the proper "gotta start somewhere" scenario?
