Apple tv stream from ipad

So I been using atv + ipad 4 to stream for a long time.. all of sudden, I'm able to stream to tv and use the ipad at the same time.

Is it because its probably playing in quicktime that lets you stream and use the ipad at the same time ?

Some apps enable that feature where you can use the iPad and stream at the same time. The app you use may have been updated to include that feature.
