Apple TV and Vizio not playing nice

I have a Vizio VA26L and recently purchased an Apple TV. When I plug the ATV into the TV via HDMI, it says "Not Support!" across a blue screen. It's recognizing that it's hooked up, but I don't know why it says that and won't come up. The TV is HDCP and supports 720p, so I'm not sure what else could be wrong that would make this not work. Any ideas?

Yeah I went and tested that shortly after I posted this. It's weird though. It will work on a different TV, but only in one direction. If I flip the cable around, it doesn't work. ANd when I brought it back to my Vizio (the other test was also a Vizio, just newer) it worked for maybe two seconds and then said "No Signal". In any case another cable worked fine.

So the problem was the cable?
