I'm pruning the fruit trees this morning, needed a coffee break. I fell out of a tree a couple of days ago and busted up my shins and my knee pretty good. I finaly got brave enough to jump back in.
Any of you guys have fruit trees?
We have about 20 trees I suppose. Chestnuts, Apples, Pears and Cherries. A mess of blueberry bushes too, I suppose I'll have to give them some attention this year, they were pretty nasty last year. All the rain for the last 4 years has really taken a toll on them (blueberries don't like wet feet).
That is all.

I have a winter pear tree and just planetd two apple trees. The pears hit the ground, rot, and then when i mow over them, stick to the bottom of the lawn mower and stink up the garage. Thats all I have to say about that.

You're supposed to pick the pears before they fall off the tree, wrap them in newspaper, and put them in the fruit cellar for winter.
The yellowjackets like pears. Sorry about your lawn mower ;)

Just bought a house w/ land. There are a couple dozen apple trees. I've gotta get out there pruning next week, have a LOT of work to do.
Plus, I'll be planting blueberries as well this spring, and perhaps some cherry trees if I have enough money left.

I've got a lot more trees than that, those are just the fruit trees. We live on 5 acres in the country. We're not in the sticks, but in the middle of farm territory. There's corn or hay or oats growing any direction I turn.
We're make-believe farmers. We keep two gardens that are about 100'X50' and we raise chickens, ducks, and bunnies.
The wife just sold the last of her Easter Bunnies yesterday and only has a few Easter Chicks left.
I do admit that I like coffee a lot better than pruning trees, but my wife makes the best apple pie you've ever eaten, and they're that much better when you grow them yourself.

Why? Some sort of anti-apple political front?
Edit:
I get it now. Mangos=good, apples=bad. Sorry, full belly=tired.

Sounds so like us :) Except, replace the bunnies with peacocks, and hopefully miniature llamas this summer.
