'nuff said. French government forces Apple to open its DRM technology to rivals. Instead of losing lots of money, Apple will leave. Ofcourse the bill aplies to other companies as well including Sony, for example. I wonder what's going to happen as a result...Apple plans no surrender to France
"We will take our iTunes elsewhere"

APPLE sauces said the outfit is planning to pull its super soaraway iTunes out of France.
The outfit is highly miffed after the French government had the cheek to suggest that it should open its DRM technology to rivals.
The French National Assembly voted 296-to-193 to approve an online copyright bill that would require online music services and MP3 player makers to open DRM technology up to competitor's devices and services. Apparently Apple?s Steve Jobs would rather eat dog dirt than allow rivals to fondle his iPod DRM technology.
One analyst at Piper Jaffray, Gene Munster has suggested that the outfit will shut down all its iTune access and take away its iPods. Since Apple only has two per cent of its sales in France it probably will not do it much damage. But Munster said that Apple fears that other countries will follow suit, which they might do if there is a big fuss or court cases in France. It is much better to softly and suddenly vanish away and never be met with again.
