Okay, is it just me, or is there not a major problem with the Mac App Store?

Let's say I've got an application that I currently sell for OSX through my website and brick and mortar stores. Let's say it costs $50 and currently sells well.

Why TF would I put it on the App Store and give Apple 30%? Yeah, it'll get me exposure, but why wouldn't I put up a crippled demo version for free, then direct everyone to my website for the full $50 version?

lol @ the 70/30 split for OSX App Store. A domain costs $10 a year and a website is $13 a month nowadays.

buuuuuut...most people are non-nerdy - I can see my parents/grandparents totally loving the OSX App Store, easily finding apps - so having the ability for customers to easily find your software might be easily worth the profit sharing, even though it's kind of ridiculous lol.

App Store wins because of impulse purchases. Thus, the apps also have to be cheap (< $10).

I expected that OS X Lion would be out around WWDC '11.

What I'm really disappointed in is this presentation. I don't think there was any need to preview the things in 10.7 aside from the App Store since they're going to launch it soon.

I was really expecting a more detailed discussion of 10.7 but I suppose that will have to wait until WWDC '11. This should have been just a iLife/App Store/MBA preview with no mention of 10.7.

And I definitely won't be buying a MBA until I see a firewire port. I would rather have 1 USB/1 FW or 2 USB/1 FS instead of 2 USB/SD Card reader. Although the 1440x900 display is definitely enticing. I'm thinking that will make it's way in to the 13 MPB now, though.

STILL too expensive. The air needs to start less than $600, not $999

My guess is you'll never see Firewire on the Air.

I wasn't even expecting that much and found it very underwhelming...

Really? I'm very happy with today's event - an 11.6" Air is exactly what I've been lusting after.

great form factor on the air, but core 2 and only 2gb of ram? seems like 2007 specs. they couldn't go with i3 or zactac and up the ram a bit and accomplish the same thing?

The only thing that bugs me about the 11.6" Air is the 16:9 screen...

I really don't want to see that making it's way to anywhere else in the lineup.

Did you guy see the 'Software Reinstallation Flash Drive' that comes with the new Airs?
