So my iphone went dead and I went to the apple website to request tech support. Apple VERY quickly sent me a box via fedex to ship it to them. They must have shipped it the fastest way possible through fedex and it was delivered to my house before 8:00am.
The box had a manual, the little tool for removing the sim and was paid for both ways. That's about $35 to my location(Alaska)!

Well it turns out the iphone charger died and there's nothing wrong with the iphone.
Man I was amazed at apples promptness though.
I almost feel nervous that this false alarm might somehow hurt my warranty.

Guess they can afford to offer that quality of service when charging $300 per phone.

My brother has had great service for his iPhone but some of my friends have gotten crappy service. Guess it really depends.

No I never sent them the phone. Had another charger lying around. It was just a bad usb cable in fact.

I am confused. You called tech support without trying the USB cable directly into the PC to see if the phone would respond/charge? What kind of a geek are you? :p

No I tried a few different cables at the time and nothing. I think something weird happened to it after it had been powered all the way down. Just didn't want to turn on. Then it miraculously came on. Hell I don't know I'm a computer tech not a phone phreak. Anyway real phreaks never had cellphones.

While I dislike apple for various reasons I did pick up an ipod touch to see if I really wanted a smart phone (didn't realize that wifi was a poor sub. for 3g (i.e, I thought most of boston would have free wifi access but it is more restricted than I figured). Anyways I had a minor issue with itune (that software is rather limited and buggy) but their tech support was very helpful (though in the end I had to figure out how to fool the bloody thing; it became confused managing DC). Anyways I would give them a positive rating for tech support and willingness to help.

You don't get as big as Apple and manage to satisfy every CS issue 100%.

And I disagree with DivideByZero, I think this thread is just fine here.
