So, as you might know my ipod was having a hard drive problem last week. I drove the 1.5 hrs to the apple store, and they gave me a brand new one to take home..... when I get home and load up my congs... i find that the headphone jack is busted. I get no bass out of it unless I puch the headphones in really hard.... WTF, this thing is brand new. I am going out of the country on Thursday, and need to get a new one before then.... I geuss I have to drive out there AGAIN.... this is so stupid, why wont they just make things that work?!

Because they're Apple. They believe their products' worth transcends functionality.

"Doesn't work? So what? Still looks shwanky, doesn't it?"

Few people have problems iirc. Companies wil always have some dude products.

I've had 2 iPods (sold 2nd gen one) and bro has 2 iPods (dropped and broke the 1st) and they were all fine and working properly. My remote on my 3rd gen one starting getting flaky with the headphone jack. It is a bad design. It shouldn't stick up like it does. It sticks up too much. The Sony ones that come out more flat are MUCH better for the remote to the iPod.

Just because you said don't buy from them, today, I'm going to go out and buy a Mac mini with an additional 1GB of ram from Crucial.

If it had sucked so bad when you got the BRAND NEW ONE you should have went to a B&M closer to you and bought a different brand and proceeded to ebay the new IPOD mini.

Well, its a 4G Ipod, and I wouldnt have expected a NEW one to suck so much..... The one with the HDD problem took a few month to occur.
