yea, apple web designer probably was on a date, and in an attempt to impress her and have a good laugh, brought her over to his computer and said "watch all these poor souls and how I can give them so much hope and then crush it all just as quickly"...and they laughed and laughed and laughed all night long

It's back up but I can't tell what's changed. Only thing that interests me are the macbook pro's and they appear to be the same.

OH NOOOOES, not Apple's overpriced store, what do we do, build hackintosh'es for cheaper? oh noes again.

you may be able to soup up a Mazda to hit Mercedes speeds, but at the end of the day you've still got a Mazda.

Actually, no. You will never be able to soup up an Apple to PC speeds, but at the end of the day you still have a shiny aluminum case to jack off over.

And no Mazda can even come close to a decent Mercedes, so please go back to analogy school.

And who would care if the point is A to B in *x* seconds? Though thats a poor anology due to the fact that a hackintosh has all the technology and abilities the Apple does, you can even buy premod external kits to accomodate PC hardware.
Quality wise again, can be the same depending on how much you want to spend.

I know cause i got one, all for under $800, it looks almost identical but uses Laptop hardware and its actually faster than my G/f's iMac which as a 21.5 inch screen and mine has a 24 which i supplied seperatly but most everyone that comes over never knew the difference. though i just have it for the family room due to looks, my stepson and g/f use it most of the time, her imac is mostly unused and sits in the bedroom.

my analogy was fine, because at the end of the day, you can make a hackintosh, but you'll never have the support and never have the stability as if you just bought a proper mac. Just like you may be able to supe up a Mazda to perform in the short term like a mercedes, but the time and effort to maintain by yourself, not to mention that at the end of the day you still have a crummy knockoff in shitty case....well you get it.

If you're looking to save a few bucks for a toy, then hackintosh is the way to go. But if you're using for a living, for a paycheck, then the extra dollars you save on the front end is not worth the time and possibly money on the back-end. Sorry to hurt your feelings, but this is only disputable by those that don't know any better.

Is this it? Really? This is the apple forum? People come in here just to shit on apple?
Why the fuck did they separate it if this is all people were going to do anyway?
