LPDDR is typically also faster than regular DDR (at officially supported speeds).Lenovo on the other hand has no reason other than power saving to solder RAM because it's design is not like Apple's.
So by soldering in you get lower power, faster RAM, that reduces tech support issues, and takes up less space.
That's a lot of Pro's, now the Cons:
