Apple was one of the first companies to sell digital cameras. But digital cameras in general were not very popular back then, and the quality of a $1000 one was only about the quality of a disposable film camera at the time, so they didn't do well.

thats not really a fair comparision. I'm not an Apple user, but from what I've seen, that little Kodak would be like four or five EOS-1D's, storage space and image quality and ease of use wise, condensed into a slick titanium shell about the size of them little Elphs cameras, and would cost more than a ferrari.

It did 640x480 resolution and took a while to save on to its memory.
