Im thinking of selling my toshiba m30 laptop and buying apple powerbookg4.

The reason is that my laptop is getting really hot and hot after 5-6hrs.

M30 battery also runs fast. How you guys think?

Should i keep my m30?

I believe your laptop is worthless. You will be forking out money just to get the new powerbook.

But if you are rich, who gives?

Keep the m30 and buy the powerbook straight out.

Yes, I've got a powerbook and it is the best laptop I've owned bar none. That being said, it too gets hot...

I have a Powerbook and yes it is the best laptop I have ever used. The Dell's and Toshiba's that I have used before are not even in the same ballpark in terms of just how nice and, well perfect, this thing is. I  it. 🙂

Depends on what size; the 17" desktop replacements do get hot, while the 12" portables keep fairly cool(i.e. they never get above warm).

What do you use your laptop for though I guess is the real question? As nice as the Powerbook is will OS X suit you? I do not play videogames and primarily use my laptop for graphic design, the internet, Word, etc., so the Powerbook suits me well.

edit: and yes the Powerbooks get warm just like most other laptops. Although I would not set it down in my lap while on the john with my pants pulled down, it doesn't catch on fire or anthing like that.

I have a powerbook, Best laptop I have ever had hands down, and I usually use windows machines. It will get hot if you are playing games on it for a long time, but just for doing typing etc, it dosent really heat up.

I bought a 12" Powerbook G4 about a year ago. The first Mac I've owned, and the first time I've used OS X extensively, and its been great. Using it for the standard internet, e-mail, IM, as well as some audio editing, video editing, photo cataloging, and burning DVDs. I'd recommend it for sure, though it does get slightly warm. Doesn't bother me though.

We just got a 12" ibook for work, and the build quality (especially the keyboard) seems cheap compared to the Dell Lattitudes we normally get.

So if you're going mac, get a powerbook not a cheap ibook.
