It says they are an authorized dealer but mac says they aren't. Anyone know anything about them?

If they're lying about something as little as being an authorized dealer, what makes you think they're even an ounce legit?

Edit: Man, this is shady as hell:

We accept all major credit cards: VISA, Mastercard, American Express, Discover.

The site does not have online buying facility, you will require to lock in your order with us by email.

Once we receive a confirm order, we will send you an email confirmation with the total cost.

Please CLICK HERE to download our credit card agreement. Sign it and fax to us.
NOTE: We do not accept credit card orders without signed and faxed credit card agreement.

If there are more than one interested buyer on the same item, we will sell to the first confirmed transaction.

Please allow up to 10 days for credit card orders to be processed.

Credit card orders are not valid for our special deals.

E-Gold
E-gold can be thought of as an international bank but with one big difference: international money transfers don't issue huge costs.
The account itself is free. If you do not own a credit card, this could be the alternative.
You should have a personal e-gold account. To issue the account is pretty easy at the e-gold home page www.e-gold.com. After that fund it by various methods (choose the best one here or here).
Email us for our e-gold account number to which you should transfer the money from your account.

Also all of e-gold orders are subject to a 15% discount.

Please Note:
To qualify for a refund or exchange we require that no more than 50% of any course or product be opened or viewed.

Shipping and handling charges are nonrefundable.

Packages arriving at Jagerrault Computers without authorization will be refused.

Jagerrault Computers does not accept returns on multi-user licenses.

Requests for returns made after 20 days from date of purchase will be denied

The WHOIS data (Posted below) says it's pretty new, only started on 7/11. You might want to call them up and ask why they're not on Mac's authorized reseller list. They're displaying the logo, but it doesn't link to apple's website. I'll keep digging and see if I can find anything else out, but in the mean time, lets just call this one a scam.

[whois data clipped, I'm too slow]

I actually went the other route and sent a request to Apple asking why the site was displaying the logo if they are not listed as an authorized reseller. Not sure what Apple's response time is, though. Also, while a new site should be approached with caution, it should not be the sole reason to discount an on-line retailer. Remember, at one point websites like buy.com, outpost.com, and amazon.com were only 13 days old. I'd be more worried about the fact that they are pushing e-Gold, which only makes it easier for them to escape to the Cayman Islands with your money after they are done fleecing you.

besides, Its price is like 1000 off the MSRP from apple, which is rarely happen with any apple authorized dealer. It even cheaper than some refurb powerbook from smalldog.com . So, I would stay far far away from it.

Aww man, why do people always post crap like this. If its too good to be true, it usually is. Change the title of this thread already, its not a hot deal to throw money away.

well, in order to get the 'special deal' you HAVE to pay via e-gold, which seems kinda shady.

they have a TiBook 800 w/ 512mb ram, 40gb hd, combo drive and airport for $2225 which, if they are legit is a smoking deal. (unfortunately i doubt they are legit).

so if i buy the TiBook800 w/ a cc, won't i be protected from fraud?

ill keep following this thread and see what people dig up...

Don't you think it's useful to know if a store is a legit or not?

That's cheaper than used on eBay. No way this is legit.
You may get a laptop (if you're lucky), but it won't be the same thing you'd get from Apple.

Yeah that is what I meant by it, I have been trying to get ahold of this company but all I get is voicemail. The phone number on the site says that it is San Francisco, but it is actually an LA number.
