Apple picking season! This season is 2-3 weeks ahead of schedule, so get out there!

Just a PSA. Apparently apple crops came in a few weeks early this year. I went to a place outside Boston this weekend and got some good gala's, topaz's, often-overlooked Empires, Crispin, and these HUUUGE Mutsu apples. They're over a pound each. Seriously, it's huge For reference, that is a very large Empire apple next to it. Unfortunately I just missed raspberry season.

If anyone Boston ATOTer's are interested, I went to Tougas Farm about 35 minutes outside Boston, in Northboro. They had a small petting zoo, and GREAT food. Get a cider-donut if you go.

All the places in IL closed early this season. There was some frost that killed all the late season apples over here. 🙁

We were able to get some Blushing Glories last weekend though 🙂

Will have to head out to Apple Hill (local orchards east of Sacramento) soon. Gotta get me some apple donuts this time. The line was too long last year when I went.

We had an unusually cool summer here in NorCal. I suspect the apples will be later than usual just like nearly every other crop has been this year.

i went last weekend here in upstate NY

Got Cortlands, Ida reds and empires. Idas and emps i could have taken an entire bushel off of a single tree. almost like no one had touched them, Macs and cortlands were moderately picked

Honeycrisp FTW.

All my apple trees didn't produce this year because of a late frost in spring 🙁

Empires are the sleeper apple.... Best tasting to eat, IMO!
That's what I'm getting when I go hopefully this weekend.

I think I overdosed myself on fresh apples and cherries, growing up in the apple capital. I'm allergic to both now in the fresh form, *BUT* heat them up and I'm good to go!
Apple pie FTW 😀
