Your G4-450 is fast enough. A G4-1.4 Isn't going to make a rat's ass of a difference. The only noticable performance scale in the mac world is G3-233=>G3-300 and inter-generation (m68k=>PPC, PPC=>G3, G3=>G4, G4=>G5)

Now, give me your old G4 so I can toss it in the place of my G3-233.

i'm guessing that more than tripling the clock speed would in fact make a difference. certainly a lot more than your measly 28% G3 example.

I can't belive people turn an upgrade into an emotional event. It's not like the guy said "your kids are ugly" but from the responses, he might as well have. tards.

It's not your clockspeed, it's how you use it. People getting into clockspeed wars look pretty stupid IMHO as a hardware engineer (in training at least). I blame Intel for encouraging that kind of stupid thinking.

I think that g3 example is when they moved from a 66mhz bus to a 100mhz bus. A mac is only as fast as it's bus.
