Second model, $1599, adds 2.4GHz processor, 250GB hard drive and a backlit keyboard.

so 1600+ tax for a new MB or 1769 for an old MBP...

What's the current educational discount on the MB? I'll use my sister to buy one, if the weight isn't too bad and the overall dimensions have shrunk a little.

It was $50 on the cheapest model, $100 on the more expensive ones.

Interesting.

10:56AM "Blu-ray?"

Steve: "Blu-ray is just a bag of hurt. It's great to watch the movies, but the licensing of the tech is so complex, we're waiting till things settle down and Blu-ray takes off in the marketplace

Wait, are there three models of Macbook or two? I'm hearing three price points: 999, 1299, and 1599.

Q: Why isn?t HDMI or Blu-ray in there? And Display Port is?
A: HDMI can?t drive our 30-inch display, so we put in Display Port.

What the fuck is this shit?

Yea, its kinda odd. They raised and lowered the price of the MB.

$999/$1299/$1599 from $1099/$1299/$1499

There are three. the 999 is the old plastic type and the other two are the new manufacturing process.

Engadget doesn't have it as that, they say that the "resolutions are limited" so they put in displayport. Dunno who is right, Gizmodo or Engadget...
