Apple mini & HDMI adapter?

I heard I can buy a HDMI adapter for the mini. Problem is, how do I get sound into my TV? TV's today suck. There is no option to change the sound input, it just defaults to where the video input is. So if I am at HDMI1, 2, 3, 4, it expects audio to be there. The RGB port has an audio port next to it, so you can have sound when you are plugged in, but I heard I am loosing quality on the RGB port.

By RGB port do you mean VGA or Component? They are both analog as opposed to HDMI's digital, and digital is usually better, but it depends on the device as to whether or not you will see quality loss on one over the other.

That being said, Monoprice sells a box that hooks into the MiniDP and USB to give you audio over HDMI.

What i did was I have all my video inputs going to the receiver and than I just use the receiver for video switching. So I have a DVI to HDMI adapter on my mini that goes to the receiver, and a adapter to change the digital audio from the mini to optical (which goes to the receiver as well). Then I just told the receiver when on HDMI input #3 to use the optical audio port for audio.

Worked pretty well (if that all made sense)
