apple mini dvi to dvi to dvi to vga?

as title says.....I know it's a long shot, but I was wondering if this works. Yes I know it doesn't fit physically and the signal is slightly different, but has anyone tried it?

analog is carried on the big blade and the pins right around it. seems easier to do mini-dvi-> vga cable from amazon

ah, well just wasted a vga dvi chap during prepwork. thanks mate, cheers.

thats only on a dvi-i port. dvd-d ports dont have those pins.
