Asking to buy the Black Macbook. If you consider that more than likely the black costs apple now more then the white model. That is $6000 profit.

It was so funny in there. These people come in, go straight for the black one. They don't know how to use it. So the Mac sales guy shows them something. Then the dinger for some of them is that they tried to get a deal. Most of them did not know of the student discount and the apple sales guy sure did not tell them about.

Anyhow. I think charging more for the black version is fantastic. It may be a cheap shot at Apple, but i think they were going based on the Black Video iPod sales and saw the cash cow that it is.

I don't like the black. There is an urge, but when I see that price. No Thanks. Plus I had an ibook not too long ago. It would feel weird to own a black one.

Good new for eBay whores. There will be many Macbooks(most likely black) on eBay going used, coming from those folks who bought it and don't like it. That is how I got my ibook and I must add, I got it very cheap.

Some of them were. I overheard a few of the guys say I am in school so I need Office and blah blah blah. I am guessing college from their looks.

From the ones I talked to, most Apple reps are not aware of many of the discounts readily available (military, student, business, etc).
