Apple Leopard now runs on a PC!!!

OK, folks... this could be a bad day for Microsoft.

Leopard is confirmed to run on (selected) PCs, thanks to the tireless hackers at DailyApps.net

Running OS X on non-Apple x86 hardware has been possible for quite a while now.

Yes, with the release of Leopard, the process has been made easier.

I don't think MS has to even blink when confronted with this though...who is going to run and benefit from a hacked, unsupportable OS? Your average PC user? Businesses? No. People who probably don't pay for their OSes anyways (I'm talking pirates here, not Linux users before anyone gets in a huff)? More likely.

From my original link:
"More Patched DVD?s from Uphuck, Netkas is [sic!] in the works so it would be better if you wait for the polished releases to come out"

This sounds like another job for Retestrak - or someone else working along the same lines.

 Exactly. Microsoft's bread and butter are corporate and average home users. The techies who would do something like this make up a very small % of the market. Chances are those people are running an illegal copy of XP or Vista or running an alternative OS already.

For someone with a laptop with very similar specs to a macbook, etc, such as a gma945 chipset, this could be pretty neat. But I could see some driver nightmares for a lot of other folks.

So what does the Apple EULA say about this? Anything? Would it be legal to buy Leopard at a store and then use this method to install it on a PC?

I'll consider it down the line - formatting and reinstalling Vista was less painful than I expected (I blame ASUS on this one) ... next time I could redo the full thing and run this to experiment.

Maybe Steve Jobs will take note of how popular Leopard is and release it in a form that can install on any machine instead of having to buy Mac hardware.

Not going to happen. Making it possible to install on 'any machine' would me a lot more time in development and testing.
