Is this much of a concern? I haven't seen dead pixels before on any Mac LCDs, but the thought of going out and buying one with dead pixels and not being able to get it fixed is not a great one. Comments?

I bought an iBook (12/03) that had one stuck pixel. Its rare, but it does happen. If you have AppleCare you can piss on it then exchange it for a new screen. If you don't have AC, make sure there are no dead pixels within the return period.

I think all manufacturers have a dead pixel policy, not just Apple. After a certain count, most should take the return but if it's like 1-5, I don't think they will grant a replacement.

Dead pixel policy varies by manufacturer and retailer. Thats why he should either a) get AppleCare, or b) make sure there are no dead pixels before the return period expires. That way if its either 1 dead pixel or 7, it won't matter. I think Apple is in the 3-5 range, but IMO 1 is too many.

How long is the return period usually? Like assuming you get it and all works well, chances of a pixel having problems is pretty low isn't it?
