Bad: Select button stopped working after a few weeks.

Good: Sent iPod for service on Tuesday; got it back on Friday, and with a new battery! Strangely, the package that I received had a shipping label that said Taipei?!
 
not the same ipod. they don't do that...it would take too much time/money to repair each individually. probably a refurb. send em all to lower wage area for mass repairs.

That occurred to me, but my ipod has personalized engraving on the back, and still does. Perhaps it was just the box that came from Taiwan.

removed the back and put it on that one?
 
LOL-You're right--They sent me a different ipod! I looked at it closely and all the scratches are gone! Also, I just turned it on and no songs.

I guess they put the engraving on another ipod and sent it to me. Well, even better--My ipod looks new again.

edit: different serial number. I guess I took a stupid pill 😀

Apple explicitly states they send out refurbished replacement iPods. 😛

Pretty fast service considering the engraving!
